Georgia Bruce

Room 6 (Yr 3/4)

General Information

Kia ora,

I'm Georgia Bruce and I am very excited to be teaching in my first ever classroom, Room 6 for 2019!

After completing my placement as a final part of my teaching degree at Pokeno, I knew it was going to be tricky leaving after having such an incredible experience being surrounded by such a unique school wide culture. So I made it a goal of mine to return... and here I am, ready to pursue my career in a school that I have grown such a strong passion for.

I am a local girl and have grown up in the Pokeno community my whole life with only recently branching out of the area to Pukekohe. Growing up in the community means I have been here to witness the growth this community has gone, and is still going through. This makes me even more excited to see this reflected within the school this year and in the future.

Growing up I attended a local primary school and then moved onto Tuakau College where I started as a year 7. After graduating High School, I went onto to study a Bachelor of Education at Auckland Univeristy where I became best friends with the southern motorway. I recently completed my degree at the end of 2018 which has been an incredible achievement for me.

Across my 3 years of training I have been lucky enough to be placed with many experienced teachers that have inspired and taught me the tricks of trade that I'm excited to share with my class this year.

In my spare time I like to spend time with my family and friends, go on adventures, and travel as much as possible. I also have a strong passion for creativity, so at the beginning of 2018 I started a small event-hire business as a way to express my creative side.

I'm very excited and look forward to getting to know you all this year :)
