Kia ora!
I'm Rochelle Bezuidenhout, and I've been teaching for nine years.
Originally from South Africa, I've always been passionate about education and have dedicated my career to creating a supportive and engaging learning environment for my students.
My teaching philosophy centres around building strong relationships with my students and their whānau. I believe that when students feel valued and understood, they are more likely to succeed both academically and personally.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family. I'm thrilled to be a part of this wonderful school community and look forward to working together to help each student reach their full potential.

Kia Ora, everyone! Kamusta?
I'm Maria Rushell Zinampan, but you can just call me Shelly. I've had an amazing journey teaching in primary schools back in the Philippines and as an ECE teacher in Singapore. My family and I made the big move to New Zealand in July 2022, and I absolutely loved my time as a Kaiako at Urban Explorers Pokeno for the past two years. This is my first experience teaching in a primary school here, and I feel so blessed to be at Pokeno School. Being new, I'm really looking forward to making new friends and jumping into all the exciting experiences that lie ahead!
