Pokeno School

Welcome to Pokeno School

COVID19 Update 14 September 2020

Kia Ora Pokeno School Whanau,
The Prime Minister announced today that we will remain at Alert Level 2 (and Auckland at 2.5) for at least another week. Therefore, nothing changes for us here at school. While we won't be having full school assemblies under the current alert level, some classes will be having assemblies in their whanau groups. Unfortunately we won't be inviting parents or family members to attend these or other school events while we are under level two.

Here are some reminders for everyone:

Parents: When dropping off or picking children up please remember to do ONE of the following things -

* Register your visit on the official NZ Covid Tracer app by scanning the QR Code..... OR

* Check In and Check Out using the Pokeno School App.... OR

* Sign in on the sheet outside the office

At the end of the day we ask that preschoolers are kept off the playground and that families do not stay on the school grounds.

Please keep children home if they are sick, and stay off school grounds if you are sick.

Children: All children need to remember to bring a drink bottle to school. Drinking fountains are closed during level 2.

If you have any questions please feel free to email me at principal@pokeno.school.nz

Take care and stay safe

Blair Johnston (Mr J)
Principal

We have an amazing group of children who love being part of our learning community and enjoy everything school has to offer. At Pokeno School children participate in new learning across all areas of the curriculum, and a wide range of sporting events. They enjoy visiting performers, trips, camps, and being part of the wider Pokeno School community.

The experiences our children have are made possible by the enthusiastic and dedicated staff. Teachers, teacher aides, the school secretary and caretaker all contribute to what makes Pokeno School such a great place to be.

We have a very supportive Board of Trustees. They work hard behind the scenes ensuring the governance of the school is managed in a way that always puts the children first. In addition to the Board of Trustees we have an extremely hardworking PTA. Although this group is relatively small they are committed to raising funds that can be used to enhance the teaching and learning programmes for our children.

We hope you enjoy looking around our website and learning more about our great school.
