We are a well-resourced school with 35 teaching spaces, a library, a swimming pool, two playgrounds, and a large multi-purpose shade structure with kitchen facilities. Pokeno Playcentre is also located on the school grounds.
The majority of our children live in Pokeno, with a small number of children living on the outskirts on life-style blocks. There has been significant growth within Pokeno and the school has been taking a steady stream of enrolments from the new housing developments for some time. Due to the continued growth families looking to enrol their children must live within our enrolment zone.
The high-quality staff are hard working and ensure that the needs of the children are paramount to everything we do. Pokeno School has a supportive School Board and a hard-working, successful PTA, who organise our annual gala in Term Four.
The community is extremely supportive and fully involved in the School’s activities.
The children of Pokeno School take part in a wide range of annual events. The senior children compete in a number of events through the East Group Schools sports group. This includes swimming, athletics, cross country, and rippa rugby. A well supported Education Outside The Classroom programme allows the senior students to attend school camps.
