This is my first year of teaching after graduating from the University of Waikato in 2024. During my final year of study, I had the privilege of completing my placement at Pokeno School in Room 14 with Mrs. Turton. I am excited to be apart of such a wonderful school community
Outside of school, I enjoy spending time with my family, exploring new places, and going for walks with my dog, Milton. Kia ora! I am originally from Rotorua and have lived in South Auckland for over 20 years, where I began my teaching journey. This year, I am teaching Year 3 and am proud to be the Whānau Leader for Tūī Whānau.
I have taught across a range of year levels throughout my career, and bring a wealth of experience to my classroom and leadership role. I have been a Whānau Leader for many years and am passionate about supporting both kaiako and ākonga to thrive.
I enjoy building strong, positive relationships and creating a learning environment where students feel a sense of belonging and are encouraged to achieve their best. I look forward to continuing to lead and support our Tūī Whānau with enthusiasm, manaakitanga, and a commitment to student success.

Kia ora! My name is Hannah van Tiel and I am excited to be teaching in Room 22 this year.
I have only just recently graduated from the University of Auckland in July of last year, so Pokeno School is the first school I have taught at as a beginning teacher.
Since completing my degree, I have recently moved back home with my family in Bombay, after living for a couple of years in Auckland City while completing my studies. I grew up in the area and attended Bombay Primary School, so I am enjoying living in the area once again.
In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my friends and family (including my two dogs), netball, baking and travelling.
