Myself, my husband and our 8-year-old son immigrated to New Zealand at the end of 2023 and have happily settled into Pokeno.
I started my teaching career in 2013 as a College Mathematics and Drama teacher at a private school in South Africa. In 2018, I moved to the Preparatory School focusing on Drama and English.
I thoroughly enjoy working with students and I look forward to the opportunity to bring my ideas and passion to the Karearea Whānau.

Talofa lava,
My name is Rochelle Faleafaga (Miss Fale) and I am very excited to be a part of the Karearea Whanau this year, teaching Year 6-8 in Kahikatea 1. I have been working at Pokeno school for three years, having taught New Entrant/ Year 1, Year 3, Year 4 and prior to this as an ECE teacher in Pukekohe.
I live in Onewhero on a farm and have five gorgeous children. I enjoy spending time with my family, going to the beach, coaching Netball and Volleyball and road trips.
I am passionate about teaching and creating a classroom environment that is welcoming, vibrant, fun and motivating for our learners to grow and develop in. Developing positive reciprocal relationships with parents and whanau is incredibly important to me, and I look forward to meeting you all throughout the year.

Kia ora,
I am part of the Kārearea whānau, working alongside our Year 6–8 learners, and feel privileged to also support the team in a whānau leadership role. This is my third year at Pokeno School, and I have been teaching in primary and intermediate schools across South Auckland for the past 12 years.
I live in Pokeno with my husband and two children. I enjoy spending time with family and friends, reading, spending time at the beach, travelling and going to the theatre.
I am passionate about teaching and creating a learning environment where all students feel supported, valued and able to thrive. I believe in building strong learning relationships and supporting students to take ownership of their learning. I aim to create engaging, purposeful learning experiences that challenge students and help them grow as confident, curious and capable learners.
