Bula,
My name is Maggie Rani and I’m excited to be part of Pokeno school this year. I am from Fiji and have been teaching in New Zealand for 5 years.
I am married and have a 10 year old son. We have been living in Pokeno for the past 3 years and love being part of this beautiful community.
I am looking forward to meeting my students and their whanau and continuing my learning and teaching journey at Pokeno School.

Kia ora! My name is Kimberley Cruickshank, and I am so excited to begin my teaching journey at Pokeno School in Harakeke 1. After graduating from the University of Waikato, I feel privileged to be part of such a supportive and vibrant school community. As a first-year teacher, I am passionate about creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment where students feel confident to challenge themselves and grow.
Outside of the classroom, I love spending time at the beach and exploring the outdoors. I believe in the importance of curiosity, adventure, and lifelong learning—values I hope to inspire in my students. I can't wait to share this journey with them and see what we can achieve together!

I am excited to begin my teaching journey at Pokeno School in Harakeke 1.
I am committed to teaching our ākonga and creating a learning environment where every student feels supported, valued, and able to thrive. Building strong relationships is important to me and encouraging students to take ownership of their learning.
I am originally from the UK and have been in New Zealand for 15 years, my partner and I live on a lifestyle block and have twin boys who are now 11 years old. Outside of school, I am involved with Te Kauwhata Junior Rugby club and watch my boys play each weekend. I enjoy being creative and sewing.

After more than 20 years in the classroom, I can confidently say no two days are ever the same—and that’s exactly how I like it! I’ve spent the last 11 years teaching at Pukekohe Hill School and am now really excited to become part of the Pokeno School community.
I aim to create a classroom where students feel safe to take risks, work hard, and enjoy their learning. A bit of humour, strong relationships, and plenty of encouragement go a long way in helping students thrive.
Outside of the classroom, I enjoy reading, watching sport, spending time with my family, and getting out on the golf course whenever I can.
