My name is Monique van Dijk and I am a brand new teacher here at Pokeno School.

I am a Year 2 teacher in Room 6 and feel so lucky to support my students as they begin and grow on their learning journey. As a beginning teacher, I am excited to continue developing my practice while creating a positive and engaging classroom environment for all learners.

I live with my partner, Jabel, and our two golden retrievers, Ponyo and Archie, who keep life busy and full of fun! In my spare time, I enjoy spending time with my family and friends, getting outdoors, and relaxing with my dogs.

I am passionate about building strong relationships with my students and creating a classroom where everyone feels safe, supported, and ready to learn. I believe that learning should be fun, meaningful, and full of encouragement, and I love celebrating each child’s progress and achievements along the way.

I am really looking forward to getting to know you all and working together throughout the year!
