General Information

Kia Ora,

My name is Courtney Senn and I will be teaching in Room 6 this year as a part of the Ruru Whanau. I have been teaching within the junior curriculum for ten years, specialising in Music, Drama, Dance and Visual arts. I live in Tuakau and have two Pomeranians called Toby and Daisy. I am excited to start the new year!

I am passionate about the Arts and enjoy fostering a love of creativity in the classroom. I work hard to encourage a positive and fun classroom where students feel valued.

In my spare time, I love to paint, sing, foster kittens and cats from the SPCA.

I look forward to working together and getting to know you all.

General Information

Kia Ora,

I’m Tracey McVeigh and I’m excited to be teaching in Room 7 this year.

I’m originally from Hamilton and have lived in Pukekohe for several years after living and working in the UK. Living in London gave me the opportunity to travel extensively through Europe visiting many amazing places. But there is no place like home.

I’m an experienced teacher, and have spent many years working in South Auckland. I have a passion for teaching and learning and especially enjoy watching students grow in independence as learners and having those ‘aha’ moments.

In my spare time, I like to be with my family and friends, being active - walking and cycling, travelling and ‘upcycling’ old furniture.

I look forward to getting to know students and their families, celebrating their successes together.

My name is Sue Borrie and I am excited to be a teacher at Pokeno School.

I have a Year 2/3 class in Room 10 ( Ruru whanau). Prior to this position I was teaching as a day to day reliever at various local school for 3 terms in 2022. I had resigned from a position in a country school that year.

We moved from Howick to Pokeno seven years ago, after building our home.

I have taught for many years and went back fulltime after a 14 year break to bring up my children. My specialty has been new Entrants to Year 2 and I enjoy teaching the Arts which includes Visual Art, Music and Dance.

My outside activities include coffees, walking, tramping and travel. But my greatest passion is keeping in touch with my children and grandchildren.

I have also become a student of history, especially from the Middle East and Europe. As part of my travels I have holidayed in the UK and Israel.
