Kia ora!

My name is Samantha McKibbin (Whaea Sam), and I am excited to be joining Kārearea Whānau this year. This is my sixth year of teaching, and I am passionate about creating a positive, inclusive, and engaging learning environment where all students feel supported to grow and succeed.

Before joining Pōkeno School, I taught in both Tokoroa and Cambridge, where I worked with a range of year levels and developed a strong passion for building meaningful relationships with students and whānau. I enjoy creating learning experiences that encourage confidence, creativity, collaboration, and a love of learning.

Outside of the classroom, I enjoy spending time with family and friends, playing hockey and sewing. I am looking forward to getting to know the students, whānau, and wider community throughout the year.
