General Information

Kia ora!

My name is Emma Jay (Miss Jay) and I am so excited to be teaching in my new community of Pōkeno. It is a privilege to be part of a growing community and to support tamariki as they learn, grow, and discover their strengths.

I am passionate about creating a nurturing, inclusive, and positive classroom environment where every child feels safe, valued, and encouraged to be their best. I love bringing my creative side into the classroom—whether that’s through hands-on learning experiences, visual arts, engaging classroom displays, or finding imaginative ways to make learning meaningful and fun.

Building strong relationships with students and whānau is at the heart of my teaching practice, and I feel incredibly fortunate to be part of each child’s learning journey.

Outside of school, I spend time with my family in Papamoa, Tauranga. I love having the best of both worlds—being out by the farm and also enjoying time by the beach.
