FAmily Play & Role Play
FAMILY PLAY and ROLE PLAY is important for fostering language and communication skills, for social and emotional development and for encouraging empathy.
It provides our tamariki the opportunity to express their feelings and to understand new experiences.
When you look at the photos of our learners involved in family and role play what do you see?
We see:
- opportunities to socialise and communicate,
- opportunities for language and vocabulary development and the chance to practice using it,
- opportunities to strengthen social skills,
- cooperation and the development of understanding from another's point of view,
- opportunities to practice emotional regulation and gain confidence,
- opportunities to be creative by making up stories, chants or songs,
- opportunities to become familiar with real-world symbols and systems.
