Kia ora and welcome to Room 20!
I am Miss W and have had the pleasure of working with Room 20 in the last half of Term 2 and will be in Room 20 for the rest of 2022.

CODING BASICS
While a large number of runners represented Pokeno School at East group, Kea Whaanau participated in a rotation where they got to experience different subjects, ideas and digital challenges. In Room 20, Kea Whaanau took up the challenge of coding.
vISUAL ART
Here is a sneak peek at what Room 20 has been doing - These cans are being made 3D by the use of edges, shading, and our sketching pencils. We have learned about the importance of holding our sketching pencils differently from our writing pencils. This is just the start of our journey with sketching.

What can you expect from Term 3?
This term we are excited to move into our new building (approximately Week 4 - is the moving date). This will be a Modern Learning Environment. Rooms 19 and 20 will become Kea Forest and continue to learn in much the same way we are now.
We continue learning about our community and researching to create QR codes to mount in places of interest around Pokeno.
We are focused on Measurement and Fractions and Decimals for math. For Literacy, we are learning to use the skills of Inferencing and Summarising. Focus on Sentences, Punctuation, and Narrative Writing.
