Kia ora,
My name is Laura Turton and I have the privilege of being Room 1's teacher. I have a wonderful bunch of learners in my classroom and I cannot wait to showcase their work to you all. I am looking forward to seeing them grow and learn over the year.

What happened in Term 1?
Swimming!
It was such a hot term and we were thankful that we were able to go swimming in the school pool to improve our swimming skills. Let's look at what they did....
Many of the children have increased confidence in their swimming ability. Some could not blow bubbles as they did not like to get their face wet, others learnt to kick in the water with a flotation aid and some were focusing on perfecting their their freestyle arm stroke.
Maths
Room 1 learnt all about pictographs and bar graphs. As a class, we set a question to investigate, collected the data and then displayed the information on a graph. We then wrote statements about what we found out.
